[From Spring 2001]
Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge is looking for volunteers. If you have some extra time and would like to help us, call now to sign up. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks.
You can be an information specialist and gift shop enthusiast working in our Visitor Center. Or how about using your green thumb and become a garden doctor in our butterfly garden. If working with kids and seeing their young faces light up when you educate them is what you live for, we have plenty of opportunities for you with our environmental education department.
If you have an artistic flare, displays at the Visitor Center and our trail kiosks need to be created. And if you like to express your artistic side with words, writing articles for our web site (www.eastemshore.fws.gov) may be right up your alley.
Our office assistant and maintenance crew can always use assistance with the daily tasks needed to keep the refuge operating. Or use your bird identification skills and biological expertise in opportunities with the biology department.
If you have the time and would like to help our small but ever growing refuge, please call Sheila Faith at (757) 331-2760.
