Lighthouse Kick-off

Volunteers and CNHA staff participated in a spring clean-up of the Assateague Lighthouse in early March. Several weeks later CNHA invited visitors and residents to kick off the season by offering a "free admission" visit to learn about the lighthouse and the former Assateague Village. Interpretation was provided by volunteers and CNHA staff. Climbers enjoyed refreshments and meeting with volunteers and staff.

The lighthouse will be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday Easter weekend through Thanksgiving weekend from 9AM to 3PM. There is no charge to visit the lighthouse. However, there is an admission charge to climb to the top of the lighthouse. Proceeds from admission are used for the restoration and preservation of the lighthouse.
