CNHA President, Joyce Maher, Business Manager, Lynn Talbot, and volunteers, Glenn and Carole Aldinger recently returned from Washington D.C. after attending the Third National Refuge Friends Conference. The conference was hosted by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and The National Wildlife Refuge Association.

There were workshops in skills-building, networking opportunities (with other friends groups and refuges), education, fundraising and organizational growth which the group enjoyed attending. After completion of the workshops, the group went to Capitol Hill for meetings with the aides from the Virginia congressional delegation. The group was well received as they expressed concerns regarding the future funding for the National Wildlife Refuge System.
