[From Spring 2007]
It's time to take the tarps off your boat and put air in your tires, because renovations to the boat ramp located on the Eastern Shore of Virginia NWR just began! We are gussying the place up by widening the entrance road, re-grading the parking lot, replacing the current ramp and installing restrooms. The contract was awarded to Branscome Eastern Shore and it's hoped that construction will be completed by this summer.
The ramp's primary purposes are to provide access to fishing, hunting, wildlife observation and photography, four of the six priority public uses on National Wildlife Refuges. This site has great deep water access to fishing and hunting grounds on the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay!
