Annual Meeting to Feature Special Activities for CNHA Members

The annual meeting of the Chincoteague Natural History Association will be held on Saturday, April 30,1994, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. in the auditorium at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. The main agenda items are the election of Association board members, a report on CNHA activities by the president of the Association, and reports on refuge activities by the refuge managers of the Chincoteague and Eastern Shore refuges.

After a break for lunch, the afternoon will kick off with a 1:00 P.M. slide show presentation by refuge staff person Maggie O'Connell depicting the 50 year history of the Chincoteague refuge. The historical photos and delightful anecdotes which are part of this program will both entertain and enlighten you.

Following the history lesson, at 2:15 P.M. a tour to the top of the Assateague Lighthouse, exclusively for CNHA members, will be provided by special arrangement with the U.S. Coast Guard, Group Eastern Shore. This is a rare treat, since the lighthouse is seldom open to the public and the view of the refuge and surrounding environs from the observation deck at the top is unparalleled. It's well worth the hike up the steps and has the added benefit of burning, off some of those calories from lunch!

Take advantage of these special activities for CNHA members. Plan to Join us on April 30.
