[From Summer 2000]
You tantalized and danced before my eyes,
you sang so persistent in my ear.
You touched so gently it was no surprise
that I, at first, thought I had nothing to fear.
But I could not cope with all your attention,
and began to realize your true intention.
Although each day I tried to stay incognito
you found me, unerringly, darned mosquito!
Roger Norman
St. Mary's Bay, Romney Marsh Kent, England
Mr. Norman jotted this off on a piece of paper as he discussed the mosquito population with Miss Bertie in the CNWR visitor center. See the Spring 2000 issue for information about Mr. Norman and another of his poems.
