[From Summer 2003]

Summer Programs Begin June 22

CNWR's Visitor Services Staff is gearing up for another "hot" and busy summer. With this year's scheduled lineup, learning will be an exciting adventure of discovery and "fun in the sun" that is designed for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Summer interns, Kirk Shing Mareck, Michaela Biaggi, Brian Moreland, and Nancy Stills, joined the visitor services staff in late May. Kirk is a recent graduate of Salisbury University; Michaela migrated from the Pacific Coast and is a student of California Polytechnic State University; Brian, skilled in computers, came to the team from Eastern Mennonite University; and Nancy joined the staff while awaiting a Peace Corps assignment. Nancy will be leading the new Picture Perfect walk and sharing her talents as a wildlife photographer.

As in recent years, Marsh Marvels, Legacy of the Lighthouse, Feathered Whatsits, and Woodland Wonders will be offered as part of the summer interpretive schedule. Two "Bike Hikes" will also be part of the weekly lineup. This year I will conduct a new program, Assateague Adventures, in the "wildlife only" area of Lighthouse Meadows. This new interpretive program will explore the rich natural and cultural history along the Environmental Education Trail.

Don't miss these fun-filled adventures of discovery!
