Poetry Award Winner

Congratulations to Cindi Sue Goddard, who has been a seasonal Park Ranger/Fee collector at Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge since the spring of 2001. Cindi is a. graduate of Poet Laureate class of April 2003. In addition, she received the "Outstanding Achievement" award in Poetry, Silver Award Cup, and a Bronze Commemorative Award Medallion from the International Society of Poets.

Cindi's poem is called "Within," which is one of many creative poems she has written. Great Work, Cindi!

Shadow within a shadow,
Circle within a box.
Time within a moment,
Pain within a loss.

Notes within a tune,
Words within a song.
Life within a heartache,
Weak within the strong.

Thought within a memory,
Day within a year.
Joy within a sorrow,
Water within a tear.

Love within a void,
Stop within a start,
 Light within the darkness,
Peace within a heart.
