Meet CNWR's Interns

Hello! My name is Jordan Green. I come to you from Salem, Virginia. I graduated from Virginia Tech in December 2004. I majored in interdisciplinary studies with focuses in wood science and forest products, natural resource recreation, and Asian area studies. I just completed an action filled internship at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, located on the eastern shore of central Florida.

Here at Chincoteague Refuge I hope to enjoy this unique place while conveying the refuge's mission and goals to the public. I'll be working for Visitor Services by staffing the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative information desk, developing scheduled interpretive programs, acting as a roving interpreter, and much more. My convictions about the preservation and conservation of nature coincide with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife's goals and mission statement. That noted, I strongly believe public education and involvement with the National Refuge Wildlife System is a necessity for ensuring the future of the natural resources held in trust for tomorrow's generations of Americans.

After my stay at CNWR, I plan to continue my education in the natural resource area, for my future goal is to work on an international level to help protect our world's natural resources.

After her graduation from Ohio State University on June 12, Becky Wolff will join Jordan in his Assateague adventure. Becky is a native of Columbus, Ohio, but developed a love of the island through family vacations. Becky's education background and teaching skills will be assets to the Visitor Services Team. She will assist with coverage of the Herbert H. Bateman Educational and Administrative Center information desk, conducting "Back Deck Programs" and other impromptu interpretive programs. Becky's arrival is eagerly awaited!
