Visitor Center Expansion at Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge

The Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge will be hosting a ground-breaking ceremony on Saturday, September 24, 1994 to celebrate the expansion of its new visitor center facility. The additional building space will provide the refuge with a forty-seat auditorium and house several new interactive exhibits. The main theme of the visitor center, "Coming to a Point," will focus on bird migration and interpret the ecological importance of the Delmarva Peninsula.

Congressman Herbert Bateman is scheduled to be the keynote speaker for the ceremony. Several other community leaders have also been invited to participate in the event. CNHA members are encouraged to attend this special dedication ceremony and to enjoy the refuge facilities.

Steve Alvarez,
Outdoor Recreation Planner
