[From Winter 1993 - 1994]
One of the highlights of the refuge's 50th
Anniversary Celebration was the presentation of awards to the
winners of the county-wide art contest. Nearly 200 Accomack
County students in grades K- 12 entered the contest, which
focused on the theme "50 Years of Wildlife Management."
The Chincoteague Natural History Association donated cash awards
for the first and second place winners in four age categories.
Winners also received certificates and ribbons. First Place,
Second Place and Honorable Mention artwork was displayed at the
Refuge Visitor Center until December 15th.
