[From Winter 1997-98]
A new 8xlO foot, 4-color exhibit will be unveiled at the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in February. The exhibit, entitled "Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge ... Where People and Wildlife Meet," features the refuge's five primary missions via beautiful, refuge-specific photos taken by volunteer, and CNHA member, Michael Colopy. The photos, which depict managing wildlife, educating our youth, conserving threatened and endangered species, conducting research and scientific study and providing wildlife-dependent recreation, are superimposed over a large, full-color backdrop photo of wintering snow geese in flight over the refuge.
The new exhibit is a result of more than 6 months planning and collaboration by Chief Outdoor Recreation Planner Angela Tracy, volunteer Michael Colopy, and refuge biological and public use staff.
Don't forget to stop by the visitor center during February to view this spectacular piece that will carry the refuge's message to the more than 1.4 million visitors who flock to Chincoteague refuge each year!
